Lake Abbe in Djibouti with its volcanic chemneys, Volcanic formation and  Lake Assal (153m below sea level), Walled City of Harar in Ethiopia and  Laas Geel rock-paintings (5000-9000yrs old) in Somaliland.

Day 01:      Morning arrival in Addis Ababa, city tour of Addis.

Day 02:      Morning flight to Djibouti with ET and afternoon city tour.

Day 03:      Drive to Lake Abbe to see the lava chimney formations, fumerals, hotsprings and Flamingoes in the lake. Overnight at a simple Afar house type accommodation.

Day 04:      Drive to Tadjourah through the salt lake of Lake Assal and the new fissure, an extension of the Rift Valley. Continue to Tadjourah, a 12th century historic capital

Day 05:      Drive to Diredawa in Ethiopia with a picnic lunch along the way.

Day 06:      Dire Dawa to Harar and visit the walled city.

Day 07:      Harar to Hergeisa, Somaliland through the rock formations at Babile and camel markets. Hotel in Hargeisa.

Day 08:      Excursion to Laas Geel paintings and visit the cattle market in Hargeisa. Late afternoon flight to Addis Ababa with ET. Evening departure back home?

Optional: Continue to Lalibela or the Omo Valley in Ethiopia or Zanzibar, Tanzania.
