Danakil depression in Ethiopia with the camel caravans, Dallol and Ert Ale active volcano with Djibouti which includes Lake Abbe with its strange volcanic chimneys, volcanic formation and Lake Assal (153m below sea level)

Day 01:      Arrival in Addis Ababa and city tour. Hotel.

0Day 2:      Morning flight to Mekele and drive into the Danakil depression at Hamed Ela to see the Salt mining, camel caravans and colorful Dallol hill with the chimneys. Camping.

Day 03:      Drive south to the foot of Ert Ale and trek for 3hrs to see the active volcano at night. Camping near the volcano.

Day 04:      Trek back to the cars and drive to the Ethio-Djibouti border at Galafi. Camping.

Day 05:      Drive into Djibouti to Dikhil and continue to Lake Abe. Camping

Day 06:      Morning hike to the Lake to see the flamingoes, Chimneys and hot springs.

Drive back to Dikhil for lunch and continue your drive to Tadjourah port through the colorful salt lake of Lake Assal.

Day 07:      Morning visit Djibouti’s 12th C capital on the Red Sea before you drive to Djibouti city with stops around Lake Assal to see volcanic formations and ‘New Rift’

Day 08:      Morning visit Djbouti city before you transfer to the airport for your flight back home or to Addis Ababa.
